SPARC: Social and Political Attitudes: Resilience and Change

O grupo de investigação SPARC - Atitudes sociais e políticas: resiliência e mudança - explora dois temas principais: o estudo de identidades e diferenças sociais, particularmente desigualdades entre grupos e atitudes e comportamentos negativos em relação a grupos de baixo status; e determinantes de atitudes e comportamentos políticos, incluindo o estudo comparativo dos seus determinantes econômicos e institucionais, a europeização da política, a personalização dos média e da campanha bem como as atitudes em relação a regimes e instituições.

Este grupo concentra a sua investigação em três tipos de fenómenos:
• Os determinantes do apoio e do comportamento político, incluindo apoio a regimes e instituições e explicação da participação política e do comportamento eleitoral. 

• Identidades e diferenças sociais, incluindo a formação de identidades coletivas, exclusão social, e reações à diversidade.

• A natureza e as consequências dos valores sociais, incluindo os fins abstratos que os indivíduos consideram mais importantes nas suas vidas, como se refletem no seu comportamento e o que os determina.
