Licenciada em Filosofia, em 2003 Chiara Pussetti acabou o seu Doutoramento em Antropologia Social e Cultural na Universidade de Turim, Itália.

Durante os últimos 16 anos, lecionou ao nível graduado e pós-graduado em Itália, Portugal e Brasil, conduziu pesquisa e publicou extensivamente sobre migrações, saúde e doença, género, corpo, emoções, desigualdades sociais, sofrimento e bem-estar em contextos urbanos.

Conduziu trabalho de campo em Guiné Bissau, Portugal e Brasil sobre políticas de saúde pública, representações de raça e racismo, vulnerabilidade social, exclusão e discriminação institucional, regeneração urbana, criatividade e arte pública.

Está muito empenhada na comunicação da ciência e em atividades públicas de disseminação (exposições, festivais), além de colaborar com profissionais de saúde, instituições culturais, NGOs e policy-makers de diversos países da Europa, África e América Latina.

Chiara obteve três bolsas de pós-doutoramento da FCT (em 2003, 2007 e 2014), e em 2008 foi contratada como Investigadora Auxiliar com contrato de cinco anos ao abrigo do Programa Compromisso com a Ciência 2007 da FCT no Centro em Rede de Investigação em Antropologia.

Nesses anos, desenvolveu redes e parcerias internacionais, coordenando dois projetos internacionais (Leonardo da Vinci LLP; FCT-CAPES)  e quatro projetos nacionais. Na qualidade de curadora e investigadora no âmbito da ethnography-based art, Chiara coordenou, nos últimos cinco anos, diversos projetos de investigação-ação, financiados por instituições governamentais e fundações privadas. É membro fundador da Associação sem fins lucrativos EBANOCollective (www.ebanocollective.org), que propõe projetos artísticos de intervenção no espaço público baseados em pesquisa etnográfica, inovação tecnológica e participação cidadã.

Em 2013 obteve a Habilitação Científica Nacional Italiana de Professor Associado em Antropologia (Concurso do Ministério da Educação, da Universidade e da Pesquisa - 2012 DD n. 222/2012).

Chiara é atualmente Investigadora Auxiliar no ICS (SFRH/BPD/95998/2013) e desde 2017 é Investigadora Principal pelo ICS-ULisboa da equipe nacional do projeto ROCK Regeneration and Optimisation of Cultural heritage in creative and Knowledge cities, financiado no âmbito do Desafio Societal 5, pelo programa-quadro Horizonte 2020 (Promotor: Comune di Bologna. Coordena desde 2018 como Investigadora Principal o projeto IC&DT FCT “EXCEL. The Pursuit of Excellence. Biotechnologies, enhancement and body capital in Portugal” (PTDC/SOC-ANT/30572/2017), que ambiciona compreender as atitudes, as expectativas e as perspetivas dos produtores e consumidores das diferentes biotecnologias de enhancement, através de uma investigação de tipo qualitativo sobre as novas possibilidades de aprimoramento do ser humano. www.excelproject.eu
