Can imperial pasts be sanitised?

Abstract

The session will focus on qualitative research on female football players in Poland: perspectives on female football players’ careers will be presented, using the conceptual framework of the life course perspective and data from individual in-depth interviews. The specific dimensions that influence female footballers’ careers will be highlighted in this context. These dimensions are individual, social, cultural and structural.

Estudos recentes mostram que a aguda recessão económica sofrida no Sul da Europa acentuou a insatisfação dos cidadãos com o funcionamento da democracia e a desconfiança em relação às suas principais instituições (Torcal, 2014; Muro e Vidal, 2017). Outros estudos mostram que o apoio à democracia também aumentou ao mesmo tempo (Cordero e Simón, 2016).
