On May 20, the Memory, History and Society Research Group organizes the launch of the book Echi del Fascismo nel Brasile di Getúlio Vargas (1930-1954) by Fabio Gentile (State University of Ceará). The research project ABIDE is organizing a symposium on the 21st and 22nd of may, in Auditório Sedas Nunes at ICS-ULisboa and online. The full program for the event is now available.

This symposium addresses questions around the narrativization of animals in media and policy documents, analysing how animals are represented – or made invisible – in discursive practices related to wildfires.

On May 12, the debate Shall We Talk About Rent Control?, organized by Rede H – National Housing Studies Network, will take place at ICS-ULisboa. The debate aims to foster a broad public discussion on the public policies needed in the field of housing. Moderated by Sofia Branco (Lusa), it will offer different perspectives on rent control and the conditions for its success.
