“Only connect”: The works of imagination in a world in ruins

The Inaugural Lecture of the Imagination and Society Chair will take place at ICS-ULisboa n June 16th. Ramon Sarró, Visiting Principal Researcher at ICS-ULisboa and Professor Emeritus in Social Anthropology at the University of Oxford will present the lecture "Only Connect": The Works of Imagination in a World in Ruins. The event starts at 3pm, at the Auditório Sedas Nunes, ICS-ULisboa.

Within the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions – Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025 (MSCA-2025-PF-01-01) promoted under Horizon Europe, the Instituto de Ciências Sociais [Institute of Social Sciences] of the University of Lisbon, Portugal (ICS-ULisboa) is now accepting expressions of interest from researchers in the areas of social and cultural anthropology, political science, economics, human geography, history, social psychology, and sociology.

INSPIRE Seminars: Arte e Cidade

On June 4th, ICS-ULisboa will host a seminar in the INSPIRE series, dedicated to the theme Art and the City?. Chiara Pussetti (ICS-ULisboa) and Ricardo Campos (NOVA-FCSH) will be the invited speakers. Starting at 11:00 am, in Room 2 at ICS-ULisboa. The Art and the City? seminar is part of the INSPIRE project’s ongoing seminar series. It takes as its starting point a collective question: Can art give form to the ‘margins’ of the city?
