On September 30, the Fronteira Palace will host a gathering in honor of Nuno Gonçalo Monteiro, marking his retirement as Coordinating Researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon. A member of the Cultural Advisory Council of the Fundação das Casas de Fronteira e Alorna and a specialist in the study of elites at the twilight of the Ancien Régime, he is a leading figure in the social and political history of Portugal and the Portuguese Empire in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.
