On October 27, the I Opensoc Workshop will take place at ICS-ULisboa, a meeting of students from the PhD programme Sociology: Knowledge for Open and Inclusive Societies. The event starts at 10 a.m., in Sala Maria de Sousa.

On November 20, the SPARC Research Group is organizing the launch of the book On Electoral Integrity in Angola and Mozambique: Analysis of Questionnaires Applied to Voters of Angola (2022 Elections) and Mozambique (2019 Elections), with the authors Nuno Vidal (PPGHIS/UFRJ & DRI/Open University) and Jaime Seixas Fonseca (ISCSP – University of Lisbon). The event will take place from 2:30 p.m.

On October 23, the Imprensa de Ciências Sociais will host the launch of the book Portugal e Brasil em Mudança by José Luís Cardoso. The book will be presented by Arno Wehling. The event will take place at 6 p.m. at the Livraria Almedina, Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo.

he international seminar Challenging Anthropocentrism in Multi-Species Governance, Law and Policy will take place online on October 16, starting at 11 a.m. Dinesh Wadiwel (University of Sydney) and Kimberley Graham will be the guest speakers at this virtual event, co-organized by the Human-Animal Studies Hub, the ABIDE project, and the University of Oulu. Participation is free.

On October 23, another session of the Asia-Europe 1500–1800 Seminar Series will take place, featuring Susana Miranda and João Paulo Salvado, authors of Reassessing Global Trade: Eurasian Commerce via Lisbon, 1770–1830. The session will begin at 5 p.m. in Room 2.2.12 at the Faculty of Sciences, University of Lisbon.

On October 9, Pablo Ariel Cabás (ICS-ULisboa) will be the guest speaker at the SPARC Research Group Seminar on Lifting the Veil on Political Scandals: A Systematic Review of Causes, Processes, and Consequences.

Jorge Luis Lossio Chavez (Pontifícia Universidad Catolica do Perú and EDGES Project) will be the guest speaker on a joint seminar by the research Groups MEMHIS and Diversidades on October 22.

On October 14, Letícia Boffi (FFCLRP-USP) will be the guest speaker at the joint seminar of the LIFE, RIGOP, and SPARC Research Groups, on the theme Gestation and Transmasculine Parenthood: Examining Processes and Experiences from a Counter-Normative Perspective – Contributions to the Emerging Field of Transmasculinities.
