HR Excellence in Research
In 2025, ICS-ULisboa began the application process for the HR Excellence in Research Award. ICS is also a member of the University of Lisbon’s Advisory Committee, which oversees this process across all ULisboa schools.

The Advanced Studies Seminar is an annual course designed as a space for interdisciplinary dialogue and engagement with cutting-edge research in the social sciences. Its primary goal is to immerse students in innovative perspectives about the complex challenges of the contemporary world.
I Workshop Opensoc
On October 27, the I Opensoc Workshop will take place at ICS-ULisboa, a meeting of students from the PhD programme Sociology: Knowledge for Open and Inclusive Societies. The event starts at 10 a.m., in Sala Maria de Sousa.

On November 20, the SPARC Research Group is organizing the launch of the book On Electoral Integrity in Angola and Mozambique: Analysis of Questionnaires Applied to Voters of Angola (2022 Elections) and Mozambique (2019 Elections), with the authors Nuno Vidal (PPGHIS/UFRJ & DRI/Open University) and Jaime Seixas Fonseca (ISCSP – University of Lisbon). On October 23, the Imprensa de Ciências Sociais will host the launch of the book Portugal e Brasil em Mudança by José Luís Cardoso. The book will be presented by Arno Wehling. The event will take place at 6 p.m. at the Livraria Almedina, Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo.
