Unruly Matters: Experimenting with Speculative Multimodal Methods

A workshop Unruly Matters: Experimenting with Speculative Multimodal Methods vai ter lugar no dia 3 de outubro no ICS-ULisboa, inserida no âmbito da Conferência do Dia do Animal, organizada pelo HAS-Hub.

Join us for a half-day of experimentation and play as we follow a cast of more-than-human ‘unruly’ characters—from pigeons to acacias and from algorithms to fires and more—and ask: how might we investigate more-than-human entities? What imaginaries and discourses do they evoke? What sort of researchers do we need to become to listen, feel, and see them better? And how might speculative, multimodal approaches open new ways of thinking and researching?  Working in small groups and combining creative making with critical reflection, the session aims to encourage participants to move beyond textual accounts of more-than-human entities. We will use a variety of materials and approaches—including multimodal and metaphorical practices--to imagine, sense, and devise speculative research projects that engage with the agencies and worlds of these entities. The workshop is aimed at anyone with an interest in all or one of the following: the more-than-human world, sensory and multimodal research and design practices, and in collaborative worldmaking. Whether you’re already working in this way or are just curious, join us for a morning of glitter, glue, and mycelium thought.

O evento, que terá início pelas 10h, será moderado por Jussara Rowland e Sevasti-Melissa Nolas. É necessária a inscrição através desta ligação.
