Part 1: Portuguese Literature in the United States and the Portuguese-American Experience
A round table with Onésimo T. Almeida (Brown University, publisher of Gávea -Brown, and author of Hyphenated Lives: Essays on Luso-American Identities), Frank F. de Sousa (UMass Dartmouth, publisher of the journal Portuguese Literary and Cultural Studies and the series Portuguese in the Americas), and award-winner writers Frank Gaspar (Stealing Fatima, Leaving Pico, and several books of poetry) and Katherine Vaz (Saudade, Fado, Our Lady of the Artichokes). Moderated by Cristiana Bastos 

Literary interlude
Readings by distinguished translator Gregory Rabassa (Queens College; translator of Padre Antonio Vieira, Antonio Lobo Antunes, Gabriel garcia Marquez, among others).

Part 2:  Revisiting Luso-Asian Encounters: Why Goa Matters for Theory and Connected Histories 
A round table with Goan writer Victor Rangel-Ribeiro (author of Tivolem), historian Angela Barreto Xavier (Instituto de Ciências Sociais, University of Lisbon; author of The Invention of Goa), and art historian Filipa Lowndes Vicente (Instituto de Ciências Sociais, University of Lisbon; author of Other Orientalisms).

Recent publications in Lusophone Studies from the Center for Portuguese Literary and Cultural Studies (UMass Dartmouth), Gávea- Brown (Brown University) and Imprensa de Ciências Sociais (University of Lisbon) will be on display. These will include Onésimo T. Almeida's O Peso do Hífen- ensaios de cultura luso-americana , and Cristiana Bastos's edited volume Parts of Asia - Beyond Lusotopic Nostalgia.
