Abstract: Bringing academic knowledge to the general public in a clear yet profound way is one of the greatest challenges in journalism. The experience of producing reports for Piauí magazine incorporating sophisticated concepts of political science has pointed to some paths to meet this challenge. This seminar will report on the work in progress of a long form journalistic project, detailing the journey back and forth between the street, the journalist’s domain, and academia, the essayist’s domain.
