A palestra abordará as origens da relação coelho/criança nos mitos e símbolos das culturas ao redor do mundo, muitos dos quais jogam com a propensão biológica dos coelhos para a reprodução. A palestra será dada pela oradora convidada Margo DeMello.

Margo DeMello tem um Ph.D. em Antropologia Cultural da U.C. Davis (1995). É Professora Adjunta do Canisius College no Programa de Mestrado em Antrozoologia e Diretora do Programa de Human-Animal Studies no Instituto de Animais e Sociedade.

The talk will cover the origins of the rabbit/child connection in the myths and symbols of cultures around the world, many of which play on the rabbits’ biological propensity for reproduction.
The talk will be given by the invited keynote speaker Margo DeMello. She received her Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from U.C. Davis in 1995. She is an Adjunct Professor at Canisius College in the Anthrozoology Masters Program, and the Program Director for Human-Animal Studies at the Animals and Society Institute.
