No dia 21 de novembro, o Grupo de Investigação SPARC organiza o lançamento do livro Wealth, Power, and Authoritarian Institutions: Comparing Dominant Parties and Parliaments in Tanzania and Uganda, com a presença da autora Michaela Collord (University of Notthingam). Michaela Collord is an Assistant Professor in the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham. Her research focuses on East Africa and covers themes relating to the political economy of authoritarian rule, authoritarian political institutions (parties and parliaments), urban politics, urban labour informality, and labour organising. She has published in a range of academic and non-academic publications and is the author of Wealth, Power, and Authoritarian Institutions: Comparing Dominant Parties and Parliaments in Tanzania and Uganda (OUP). Her current ESRC-funded research explores the politics of labour organising within the informal transport sector in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
