Short Bio: Dr. Luciana Alexandra GHICA is a Romanian political scientist specializing in the discursive analysis of contemporary international political phenomena, with a strong interest in the non-material factors of foreign policymaking, canon formation in international relations thinking, and international cooperation arrangements.
She is author of a book on the relations between Romania and the European Union (2006), editor of the first Romanian Encyclopedia of the European Union (2005, 4th edition forthcoming), and co-editor of the first Romanian handbook of security studies (2007).
She studied political science and international relations at the University of Bucharest, Oxford University (St.Antony's College), and Central European University (Hungary), from which she holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science.
Currently, Dr. Ghica is Senior Lecturer of International Relations and Head of International Relations and Communication at the Department of Political Science, International Relations and Security Studies, Faculty of Political Science, University of Bucharest).
