Abstract: 

Do public policies in Portugal change frequently or are they relatively stable? What factors explain these changes? The book Continuity and Change in Public Policy in Portugal (1976–2020), authored by  António F. Tavares (Universidade do Minho), Patrícia Silva (Universidade de Aveiro) and Pedro Camões (Universidade de Aveiro) advances answers to these questions, by analysing the options available to governments in public administration over the last 44 years. Bio: 

Pedro Camões holds a PhD from the University of South Carolina and is an assistant professor in the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences at the University of Aveiro. He teaches and conducts research in the areas of decentralisation and local government, and has around two dozen publications in international journals. His consulting activities include studies for the Directorate-General for Local Authorities, the Ministry of Economy, the Municipality of Porto and the OECD. He has served as a consultant to the Government of Mozambique in the context of state decentralisation projects led by the World Bank.
