Nota biográfica: Dr. Luciana Alexandra GHICA is a Romanian political scientist specialised in the discursive analysis of contemporary international political phenomena, with a strong interest in the non-material factors of foreign policy making, canon formation in international relations thinking and international cooperation arrangements. Author of a book on the relations between Romania and the European Union (2006), the editor of the first Romanian Encyclopaedia of the European Union (c2005, 4th edition forthcoming 2011), and co-editor of the first Romanian handbook of security studies (2007), she studied political science and international relations, with a focus on international regionalism and the global impact of the European Union, at the University of Bucharest, Oxford University (St.Antony's College) and the Central European University (Budapest, Hungary), from which she holds an MA and a PhD in Political Science. Dr. Ghica currently acts as University Lecturer at the Political Science Department of the University of Bucharest, where she teaches classes on international relations theory, contemporary debates in international relations, international migration, international conflict management, and the external action of the European Union.
