3rd EUROSUD LISBON WINTER SCHOOL
Southern Europe has only recently been examined as a region with its own identity, distinct historical trajectory and independent presence in the world.
This is pertinent as much as it is urgent, given the region’s position on the cutting edge of contemporary global developments such as democratisation, populism and protest politics, secessionist movements, regional integration, transnational migration, new security challenges, North-South relations and new trade routes between East and West.
The International Master in South European Studies (EUROSUD) offers the unique opportunity to engage in the multi-disciplinary study of the South European region with an international network of six partners: University of Glasgow, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM), LUISS Guido Carli Rome, Aix-Marseille Université (AMU), Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa (ICS-ULisboa) and Associate Partners.
This programme is designed for students who wish to acquire unparalleled regional expertise as well as a sound grounding in International affairs. It is recognised by the European Commission as an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD).
The programme is taught over 24 months and includes three mobility periods.
A Winter School will be held from 27th February to 1st March, at ICS-ULisbon, featuring dissertation workshops and seminars on advanced research techniques.
This School will be a close event, apart form the Keynote Lecture which is open to the public.
