On September 30, the Fronteira Palace will host a gathering in honor of Nuno Gonçalo Monteiro, marking his retirement as Coordinating Researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon. A member of the Cultural Advisory Council of the Fundação das Casas de Fronteira e Alorna and a specialist in the study of elites at the twilight of the Ancien Régime, he is a leading figure in the social and political history of Portugal and the Portuguese Empire in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.

The Lisbon Early-Career Workshop in Urban Studies

The 5th edition of  The Lisbon Early-Career Workshop in Urban Studies will take place at the Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa, from 26 to 28 november. The event is organized by the Urban Transitions Hub - ICS-ULisboa and AESOP - Young Academics Network. Maan Barua (University of Cambridge) and Andrea Mubi Brighenti (University of Trento) will be the keynote speakers.
