ICS as HOST INSTITUTION

ICS is a School of Research and Postgraduate Studies of the University of Lisbon, and a leading institution in the advancement and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the social sciences. ICS hosts at present 98 researchers qualified to supervise PhD research within or across the areas of Anthropology, History, Human Geography, Political Science, Social Psychology, and Sociology. 

ICS participates in the offer of 10 doctoral programs, 4 of which in partnership with other Schools of the University of Lisbon and 5 in interuniversity association. Currently, it hosts about 160 PhD students in different stages of preparation of their dissertations.

PhD students are members of ICS 7 Research Groups. Students benefit from personalized training under tutorial supervision in a research environment, opportunities for theoretical and methodological improvement, integration into an internationalized and multidisciplinary community, and support for the development of transversal competences in specialized domains.

This is to inform you that, due to the current circumstances, the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia has extended the date for the PhD Research Scholarships Call, until April 28th - More information here

Thus, until April 13, 2020, ICS welcomes applications as the host institution for candidates applying to the Portuguese Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT) 2020 call for PhD Scholarships for enrollment in the following PhD programmes:
