Raquel Rego is a Portuguese researcher and professor of sociology of work, professions, industrial relations and voluntary associations. She has a Ph.D in sociology obtained in 2007 at the Université Lille 1 and simultaneously at the ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon.
Raquel participates in national and European projects since 1998 and is currently a Research Fellow at the Institute of Social Sciences (ICS) from the University of Lisbon, collaborating with the PhD program in Comparative Politics and International Relations of ICS.
She was a member of the Portuguese team of the European Observatory of Working Life (Eurwork) from Eurofound (2007-2015), and is a member of IRENE, a network of independent experts working on corporate restructuring, since 2014. Raquel Rego has been working also as an external consultant with Wilke Maack and Partners, PCG Project Consult, as well as ICF International.
Besides participating in other projects, Raquel is the principal investigator of the project REP-Representativeness of social partners and the impact in economic governance, funded by FCT (2018-2021), and the Portuguese member of the European project DIRESOC - Digitalisation and restructuring: which social dialogue?, funded by the European Commission (2018-2020).
Raquel is also the coordinator of the Organizing Committee of the Responsible Research and Innovation Seminars, since 2016, and is currently representing the postdoctoral fellows in the Scientific Committee of ICS.
In 2018, Raquel founded the Thematic Section 'Civil society, alternative economies, volunteering', within the Portuguese Sociological Association, together with Cristina Parente and Sílvia Ferreira.
