This week in SPARC we will have Ana Rute Cardoso, a new ICS colleague from Economic History, presenting her work.

Ana Rute Cardoso here is presenting a paper with David Card who won the Nobel Prize for Economics in 2021.

The title is: "Wage Flexibility Under Sectoral Bargaining", with David Card (University of California Berkeley).

AR Cardoso's work is particularly interesting for its methods, as well as its findings.

SustainLis - Ciclo de Seminários

O Ciclo de Seminários SustainLis desdobra-se em quatro sessões entre os meses de abril e junho de 2022.

Estão previstas três sessões, subordinadas aos temas da Imigração e populações vulneráveis (7 de abril), Reabilitação (26 de abril), Governança (1 de junho), que  serão realizadas presencialmente no auditório do Instituto de Ciências Sociais (ICS-ULisboa) entre as 14h30 e as 16h30.

MAPLE Spring School on Political Europe: Themes, Methods and Techniques

 

2nd Edition of the MAPLE Spring School from 28th March - 1 April

 

The objective of this School is to showcase recent themes, methods and techniques which are currently employed to study European politics. The school approaches the following topics:

- How Europe, the politicisation of Europe, and the recent Crises have an impact on domestic politics, namely voters, parties, institutions and the media.  

- How governments reacted to the multiple crises in Europe, and 

"How do political parties respond to crisis? The salience and sentiment of the EU in parliaments following the Great Recession."

This Thursday (14h30-16h00) we will have Nelson Santos presenting the paper .

The paper is a chapter from Nelson's thesis, which is an article-based thesis.

The title is the following: "How do political parties respond to crisis? The salience and sentiment of the EU in parliaments following the Great Recession."

Práticas Culturais dos Portugueses

Dia 16 de fevereiro  de 2022 vão ser apresentados os resultados do 1.º Inquérito às Práticas Culturais do Portugueses, editado em livro pela Imprensa de Ciências Sociais. O livro foi coordenado pelos investigadores do Instituto de Ciências Sociais da ULisboa José Machado País e  Pedro Magalhães, e ainda por Miguel Lobo Antunes.
