Susi Resende
PhD in Analysis of Social and Economic Processes from the University of Milano-Bicocca, with research on the life trajectories of second-generation immigrant youth in Italy, examining social, economic, and cultural dimensions. She holds two master’s degrees: one in Comparative Law, Economics, and Finance (University of Turin) and another in Sociology and Anthropology (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ). In Brazil, both during her undergraduate and master’s studies, her experience included participation in projects on race and ethnicity, gender, identity, and youth. In addition, as a university professor (State University of Paraíba) in Brazil, she worked in the “Center for Exact and Applied Social Sciences”, where she participated in the research project “Universidades,” which sought to foster dialogue between academic and traditional knowledge for sustainable development in the semi-arid region. Over the past five years, she has worked extensively on issues related to different life stages in Italy, focusing on migration processes and qualitative research. In 2024, she was a researcher at the Department of Political and Social Sciences of the University of Bologna, studying the aging experiences of Italian immigrants. Currently, her research interests also include other fields of study, namely climate change, energy transitions, and practices of energy consumption and production in the European context.
