CIG - Committee for Gender Equality
The Committee for Gender Equality (CIG) of the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ICS-ULisboa) is regulated by the School Council and was formally established in January 2025, as stipulated in the revision of the ICS-ULisboa Statutes in Decree No. 12862/2024. Its constitution was based on the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (2016), in alignment with Goal 5 — Gender Equality — of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations and the National Strategy for Equality and Non-Discrimination 2018-2030. This is an advisory body of the ICS-ULisboa on matters of gender equality. ICS-ULisboa reaffirms its institutional commitment to promoting gender equality, inclusion, and non-discrimination in all its activities, recognising these principles as fundamental to academic excellence, social responsibility, and organisational integrity.
