Irene de Assunção Raposo Rodrigues
Irene Rodrigues is PhD in anthropology, specialty in Anthropology of Religion and Symbolic with the dissertation Flows of Fortune: the Economy of Chinese Migration to Portugal (Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon, 2013), M.A. in Anthropology (2007) and B.A. in Anthropology (1999) (Institute of Social and Political Sciences, previously Technical University of Lisbon). Since 2013, she is Assistant Professor in Anthropology at the School of Social and Political Sciences, University of Lisbon where she has been teaching since 2001. Since 2002, she has participated as researcher in several funded research projects, both national and international, on topics such as gender, consumption, and more recently on death and Chinese migration. She is also co-writer of the documentary on Chinese migrants in Portugal We the Chinese (RTP, 2013).
