Marianna Bacci Tamburlini, PhD in Sociology at the ICS-UL Institute of Social Sciences, University of Lisbon, worked on transnational conjugality and citizenship in the context of institutional migration controls in Portugal. She has been working in international projects on migration and gender coordinated by Marzia Grassi at ICS-UL, focusing on processes of illegalization. She holds a degree in International and Diplomatic Sciences (University of Trieste) and a Master in Development Studies (SOAS-School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London). She has a professional background in the area of community participation processes and development cooperation projects. Her main research interests are related with human rights, gender, migration and transnational citizenship.
