Portuguese descendants in the USA in the 21st century

This study is a follow-up to a first study on “Portuguese Immigrants and Descendants in the USA in the 21st Century”, funded by the Luso-American Development Foundation (FLAD). That initial study identified the existence of distinct communities among Portuguese immigrants and descendants in the United States, with significant differences in terms of educational attainment and income between Portuguese-speaking and non-Portuguese-speaking descendants. Based on these results, this study focuses on Portuguese descendants and their comparison with native-born residents in the US, comparing their spatial distribution, level of education and income levels in the different states, including the main metropolitan areas of California, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Florida, New Jersey, Hawaii, New York and Connecticut.
