Europe at the African Border

Europe at the African Border

This project consisted in studying Europe as part of the African Continent, following the theoretical framework of Igor Kopytoff about "The African Frontier". If it is true, as Kopytoff argues, that Africans have a "frontier culture", could Europe not be seen as  "new frontier"? The project consisted of interviews and data collection on communities in Portugal. The project eventually transformed and became the twin project "Christian Atlantic" (funded by FCT) and "Recognizing Christianity", funded by FCT.
