Marta Pinho Alves has a PhD in Sociology, specialization in Communication, Culture and Life Styles (2014), obtained at Institute of Social Sciences/University of Lisbon, with a thesis intituled Cinema 2.0: Modes of cinematic production in digital times. She is an adjunct professor of the Department of Communication and Language Sciences, at Education School of Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal. She teaches several topics related to culture communication and the moving image. There, she coordinates the research center of education and she co-coordinates the degree in Communication Studies. She is a member of the Moving Image Researchers Association (AIM) where she co-coordinates the research group of digital visual culture.
