A ERA Chair IMAGINE – Chair for the Study of Imagination and Society, financiada pelo Horizonte Europa, vertente WIDERA – Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area (HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-TALENTS-01; tópico HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-TALENTS-01-01) visa estabelecer no ICS-ULisboa a primeira cátedra permanente na Europa dedicada à investigação interdisciplinar sobre as dimensões sociais da imaginação, articulando investigação científica com desenvolvimento institucional, capacitação, atração e formação de talento internacional e reforço da competitividade em financiamento internacional de investigação e inovação.

O seu quadro de investigação está estruturado em torno de cinco áreas temáticas (clusters): Imaginação profética, Arquivos da Imaginação, Literacia da Imaginação, Espaços da Imaginação – a Cidade e a Floresta; e, Imaginação, Emancipação e Comunidade.

A Cátedra é liderada pelo Professor Ramon Sarró, enquanto ERA Chair Holder, e integra uma Equipa Interna interdisciplinar constituída por Ângela Barreto Xavier, Chiara Pussetti, Cícero Pereira, Marina Costa Lobo, Olivia Bina, Sofia Aboim, Susana Matos Viegas e Vítor Ferreira, reunindo diferentes áreas das ciências sociais em torno do estudo da imaginação e das suas dimensões sociais, políticas e culturais.

The IMAGINE ERA Chair – Chair for the Study of Imagination and Society, funded by Horizon Europe under WIDERA – Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area (HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-TALENTS-01; topic HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-TALENTS-01-01), aims to establish at ICS-ULisboa the first permanent chair in Europe dedicated to interdisciplinary research on the social dimensions of imagination, combining scientific research with institutional development, capacity building, the attraction and training of international talent, and enhanced competitiveness in international research and innovation funding.

Its research framework is structured around five thematic areas (clusters): Prophetic Imagination; The Archives of Imagination; Imagination Literacy; Spaces of Imagination – the City and the Forest; and Imagination, Emancipation and Community.

The Chair is led by Professor Ramon Sarró, as ERA Chair Holder, and includes an interdisciplinary Internal Team comprising Ângela Barreto Xavier, Chiara Pussetti, Cícero Pereira, Marina Costa Lobo, Olivia Bina, Sofia Aboim, Susana Matos Viegas and Vítor Ferreira, bringing together different areas of the social sciences around the study of imagination and its social, political and cultural dimensions.
