Waters that heal

This project will be focused on the diffusion of data collected in two previous research projects about the social and therapeutic uses of thermal waters in Portugal. We will finalize the CD rom and Website in construction, promote a public exhibition and manage the feedback from the public. We will also expand the universe of study in order to include data from the Islands. Finally, we will engage in theoretical developments on water and substances from an anthropological perspective.

Objectivos: 
We aim to expand the diffusion of our findings regarding the social and therapeutic uses of thermal waters in Portugal -- both in formal/clinical  spas and in informal water sources used by the population.  Our data bases will be made public via a CD rom and a site that will allow for some interactivity with the public and in-progress adjustments.
