Training Sessions
Training Sessions
Presentation
At the beginning of each academic year, the library promotes, in conjunction with the Postgraduate Office, the presentation of the services and skills it has to offer.
Throughout the year and in order to promote information literacy skills and proactively respond to requests from the research team and ICS students, the Library develops training actions to support the community, relating to bibliographic research in the Bibliographic Catalog Aleph/SIBUL and Ebsco Discovery Service (EDS) search engine, as well as in subscribed databases. Mendeley bibliographic management software. It also provides support in the creation of research profiles. They are always by prior appointment via email Biblioteca@ics.ulisboa.pt.
Bibliographical searches
It aims to make the user aware of all the bibliographic resources that the library offers, in order to lead them to greater autonomy in solving their needs and optimizing their time.
The number of users is a maximum of three per session and a minimum of one.
Mendeley bibliographic management software
It aims to provide the user with knowledge that allows them to manage their electronic files (PDF format), in addition to helping to standardize automatically generated citations and references. It also allows the creation of academic networks where it is possible to create file sharing groups, find researchers in the same area and discover trends and statistics. The number of users varies, depending on the location, library or other room. The minimum is one person. Always by appointment.
Research profiles
It aims to provide the researcher with the knowledge necessary to create their profile, or identifier, so that it allows total disambiguation between author names. Produces citation reports according to the created authority profile and decodes the typology of documents.
ORCid - Author identifier that guarantees interoperability with other identifiers/profiles such as Scopus Author ID and Researcher ID.
Scopus Author ID - Identifier assigned by Scopus automatically. This identifier, despite being assigned automatically, can and should be corrected by the author. The author may request changes to the name used, affiliation and associated articles.
Researcher ID - Profile of a researcher associated with Thomson Reuters and which guarantees disambiguation in scientific production indexed in the Web of Science. This profile, once created, must be updated manually by the author.
Google Scholar Profile - To create a profile you need to create and log in to a Google account, log into Google Scholar and choose My Citations. This profile must be associated with an affiliation and can be public or private. Of all the profiles, it is the one that gives the most visibility but does not have any integration with the researcher profiles for academic use (ORCiD, Scopus Author ID and ResearcherID)
The number of users varies, depending on the location, library or other room. The minimum is one person. Always by appointment
