Brazilian Studies

3 Objectives Offered jointly by the Faculdade de Letras and the Instituto de Ciências Sociais of the Universidade de Lisboa, the Master’s in Brazilian Studies covers four fundamental fields and their intersections: Anthropology, History, Linguistics and Literature. The programme provides a dynamic integration between Humanities and Social Sciences, allowing, simultaneously, a transversal specialisation within the scope of Brazilian Studies and a pre-specialisation in each of the fields involved. The Master’s in Brazilian Studies has the normal duration of two years organised into four semesters and foresees: 1) In the first two semesters, attendance and approval of a specialisation programme, consisting of an organized set of mandatory and optional seminars; 2)In the final two semesters, the writing of a final work (a dissertation of a scientific nature), under the guidance of one or more professors, its discussion and approval in a public examination.
