3 Objectives The PhD in Migration Studies at the Universidade de Lisboa is an excellent opportunity to develop interdisciplinary research on one of the most challenging and urgent topics of contemporary times: human migration. The doctoral programme awards a doctoral degree in the fields of anthropology, political science, education, geography, psychology and sociology. The doctorate is offered by the Instituto de Ciências Sociais (ICS), the Instituto de Educação (IE), the Instituto de Geografia e Ordenamento do Território (IGOT) and the Faculdade de Psicologia (FP) of the Universidade de Lisboa. Students will have the opportunity to carry out original research and integrate consolidated research teams. The teachers of the programme provide guidance on diverse topics including social and cultural identities, prejudice, discrimination, integration, borders, asylum and refugees, transnationalism, urban change, citizenship, health and well-being.
