The Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ICS-ULisboa) opens a call for one research fellowship for a PhD student, under the research project «EXCEL - Em Busca da Excelência. Biotecnologias, enhancement e capital corpóreo em Portugal» (ID: PTDC/SOC-ANT/30572/2017), coordinated by Dr. Chiara Pussetti, at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon.

Duration of Scholarship: The fellowship will last for 6 months (possibly renewable up to a maximum of 12 months).
Scholarship monthly value and payment method: € 1.104,64€, monthly paid by bank transfer.
Host Institution: Institute for Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon.

Eligibility criteria
Applications must be sent by email, to the address recrutamentos@ics.ulisboa.pt, with the reference "Concurso de Bolsas de Investigação n.º 20/2021", under penalty of not being considered for the competition. Applications must be accompanied by the following documents, under penalty of exclusion, and no documents that should be submitted at the time of application may be submitted after the deadline for submission:

a) Personal Data Form and Declaration of Consent for Communication of the Results via e-mail (see attached form);
b) Detailed and updated Curriculum Vitae;
c) Motivation Letter justifying the interest in the research project theme and the skills with which you think you can contribute to the project;
d) Proof of enrollment in a Doctoral program;
e) Document(s) proving that the candidate meets the requirements for the type of scholarship, namely qualification certificate(s) of the required academic degree(s), with final average, or proof that he/she has already applied for the respective certificate(s);
f) If the academic degree of Master, required in the present Announcement as an admission requirement, was obtained abroad, you must submit one of the following documents: - Document proving the granting, by a Portuguese Institution, of the recognition or equivalence or registration of the academic degree; or - Document proving that you have already applied for recognition of the degree, which application must be submitted by the deadline for receipt of applications, inclusive;
g) The presentation of the proof of having obtained the academic degree recognition or equivalence or registration is a mandatory condition for signing the contract;
h) For academic degrees obtained in foreign countries, which have not yet obtained either the recognition or the equivalence or the registration of the degree, the recognition of the degree is required, under the terms foreseen in Decree Law no. 66/2018, of August 16, combined with Ordinance no. 33/2019, of January 25.

Required Skills/Qualifications
The successful candidate will develop activities in the scope of the EXCEL project, including: support in the administrative management of the project; carrying out ethnographic work; support in the organization of meetings and seminars and other activities to disseminate results; support in the production of graphic (posters, brochures, maps), photographic, video and audio material.
Specific Requirements
Admission requirements
Essential
a) Enrollment in a PhD in Anthropology or in related fields;
b) Master's degree in Anthropology or a related field.

Desirable Skills/Qualifications
a) Experience in research, namely in conducting and processing interviews and using qualitative methodologies;
b) Excellent knowledge of the Portuguese language and of spoken and written English;
c) Proven experience in multimedia production (photography, video and audio) and post-production and mastery of the main graphic design (Photoshop; Illustrator; InDesign; etc.) and audio and video editing software (Final Cut; Adobe Premiere; Avid Pro Tools; Audacity; etc.);
d) Immediate availability.

Selection process
The selection of candidates will be made, considering:
a) Curriculum evaluation, in view of the objectives of the project and the specific nature of the research work to be developed, valued from 1 to 10 points (50%);
b) Proven experience, considering the specific tasks to be performed in the project, valued from 1 to 10 points (30%);
c) Letter of Motivation, referred to in 13.2, paragraph c), valued at 1 to 10 points (10%);
d) Other factors considered relevant, namely publications considered relevant in the context of the project, valued at 1 to 10 points (10%).
