When Ndoki was Charmed: Witchcraft and Cure in Pajé / Tambor de Mina (Brazil) and Palo Monte (Cuba)
The project, having a multi-role nature, will observe the construction s systems of identities in two religions from a black-african origin (Palo Monte, or Regla Conga, in Cuba, and Pajé, or Tambor de Mina, in Maranhão, Brazil) guided into two central categories: language and territoriality.Therefore, it will be a comparative work by using collected data along the years of field investigations in Brazil and Cuba as well. From an empirical knowlodge, this work will contribute to the best comprehension of the internal relations of group cohesion that are very stigmatized within the religious pantheon from African origin, that is, they make use of resistence identity creations to the recognition of an ethnicity and history
