Alda Botelho Azevedo
Alda Botelho Azevedo holds a PhD in Demography from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB), having also completed the European Doctoral School of Demography at the Centre d'Estudis Demogràfics (UAB) as part of her pre-doctoral studies. She is currently a researcher at the Instituto de Ciências Sociais da Universidade de Lisboa (ICS), funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology, through the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus programme, and a guest lecturer at the Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas (ULisboa). She is the ICS coordinator of the PhD programme in Population Sciences (ULisboa) and a member of the Scientific Committee. Her research focuses on the demography of housing, demographic ageing and, more recently, the study of Portuguese immigrants and descendants in the USA. She has collaborated on scientific studies for various organisations, including the Francisco Manuel dos Santos Foundation, the Luso-American Development Foundation and the Cascais Municipality.
